Profile of Christopher Clai - President and CEO

Christopher Clai, better known as I.Am.Pulse / DJ Pulse, is the President and CEO of Contiga Broadcasting Corporation, and one of the original co-founders.  Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1986, and graduated South Lake High School in 2003. Born as a Music Enthusiast and Entrepreneur.

When he was younger, he was heavily involved in school-based broadcast media stations. In High School, he had a strong background in marketing, business management, and history. Christopher competed in DECA in 2002 for Internet Marketing, capturing 1st place in District, 1st place in Regional, 2nd place in State and went on to compete in the International competition.

Christopher started in the radio industry initially in 1999 with a simple computer and Destiny Media Technologies radio streaming programs at the time. As the initial crackdown on Internet Radio started by the R.I.A.A. who mis-understood the technology, he began moving to different mediums and eventually found himself in 2003 utilizing Nullsoft’s Shoutcast platform.

That station was originally a hobby, setup for him and his friends to listen to music from school, and to demo to potential clients, the solid network technology his company provided. A few weeks later, internet visitors started finding the station on the shoutcast.com listings, and the hobby started becoming a full-time job. The station that was once a hobby, was then called what it was now, Killer Rock Radio.

In 2003, he teamed up with co-founder Chad Coburn to spin off Killer Rock Radio from Chris’s original company to Contiga Digital Entertainment, Inc. In late 2004, the website exploded with over 5 million pageviews, and 2.7 million unique visitors a month. Not expecting the traffic, the Killer Rock Radio website crashed from a database overload which resulted in over four months of intense reprogramming by Christopher to bring it back online and ensure that the crash does not occur, developing a method known as “Dynatic Page Generation” for the websites.

Christopher was finishing up as the Director of Music and Main Event Operations for D20, Inc. out of Miami, FL in early 2005. In Mid-2005, Christopher and Chad dissolved Contiga Digital Entertainment, and formed Contiga Broadcasting Corporation (International), feeling that the new name, and mission would better center for what they wanted to accomplish.

Christopher has an extensive background in Computer Technology as well, starting his first company in 1999 known as Central Florida Main Network, Inc. which specialized in Computer Networking Services, and Website Hosting. In 2002, the name was dissolved and he started his second company, Contiga Corporation, which specialized in computer OEM (System Builder), network security services, hosting and consulting. Contiga Corporation maintained a strong list of high-profile clients throughout Central Florida and with his Partners and Suppliers. Contiga Corporation also provided consulting services in assets protection, intellectual property control, organization, employee relations, sales, marketing, and efficiency to companies like Intel and Target.

In 2005, Christopher took a more backseat position in Contiga Corporation as he tried to focus more on CBCI, and acquired the Central Florida Division of A.L. Inc., an electrical consulting firm. In 2007, after completing some major consulting projects, Christopher stepped down as the majority shareholder of Contiga Corporation, and began planning the reorganization of CBCI.

Christopher has several certifications in computer technology, programming, and disaster recovery management along with his extensive business record and history. He currently lives in Central Florida.
